1st Draft of Sozzoni Plan
Hello,
These are pictures of a 1st draft plan I made. Here are a few pictures.
1st pic is of the site before:

2nd pic is of the plan:

3rd pic is a 3D model, looking North, after implementing the plan:

This is a picture of the 3D model, looking West, after implementing the plan:

This is the 3D model, looking South, of the plan:

I am re-posting here my response to the first comment below, since it is important to have some context:
I showed houses because
(1) I tried to place them according to what the PPN said they wanted
during the innovation workshop (bigger yards, seeming preference for
detached housing, privacy, yet some connection to the neighbors) and
then (2) I tried to arrange lots, and homes according to maximizing sun
exposure for both lots and houses, and (3) I tried to shape the roads
better than the 2007 conceptual plan, given the topography but I just
did this last part intuitively.
Good point about the roads in
phase III (northernmost cluster in green). I made all roads smaller
than what the 2007 conceptual plan plan originally had, but perhaps I
could just make 1 road for the Green cluster. The problem is that there
is a little "canyon" in the spot where the road might go and did not
want it there in case it floods?? Perhaps I could shift it up the hill
a little. I also wanted to place all houses in the Green cluster on the
ridgetops for sun.
Re the Common sites, thanks! I figured common
sites could be parks, playgrounds, ceremonial sites, fruit trees,
herbal garden or whatever else they might want in common. However, I don't plan
to design it other than to say those are possible uses. I
realized though, that the Green cluster has a very small common area
compared to the Yellow and Purple -- because overall there was less
space designated for these sites. Maybe I need to change this.
This feedback will certainly help as I refine things, and when I make the 2nd draft!

Looking good! few comments I have:
I think at the scale you are working there is no need for you to show each house. It might raise unnecesary questions...
Also, whenever there is an investment in a road, with it's financial and ecological costs, it might be more reasonable to use each road on both sides?!
I like the use of common spaces for connecting the sites. You might want to explain more what such spaces look like - these are big areas, what are the differences with other natural spaces left around?
The 3D is great, you can make the colors even stronger...
Hope this helps...
Thanks! and Response
